Some artists find their medium. Carol has been finding it since kindergarten — that first box of Crayolas, the question of what might come next.

A retired teacher and one of Stella’s own, Carol works across drawing and painting with a practice she describes as grounding — a way to stay centered while chasing something new. Her work is tuned to music and literature: a song, a passage, a line that won’t let go, translated into color and form. She calls it the soundtrack of her life, illustrated.

Carol is also one of the quiet forces behind everything Stella’s does — preparing exhibitions, welcoming new artists, co-hosting our children’s art club. She shows up for this community the same way she shows up for her work: with care, and with genuine curiosity.
