Stella’s Art, Inc. began as a family of artists. The company started as a mother/daughter team influenced by the family’s matriarch, Filomenia Stellabotte, whom was a painter and a sculptor. Now the ladies, Carol Pitts and Dani Klein, create unique pieces of handmade pottery, painted glassware, acrylic paintings, and so much more.

Today, Stella's Art Inc. supports local artists from Northeast Ohio. You may view their artwork, shop, read about their inspirations on our blog, and see our scheduled classes/workshops right here on our website.

1st Generation: Filomenia Stellabotte - Oil Painting, Pottery, Fabric.
Filomemia Stellbotte was a very talent individual . At the age of 16 she graduated from high school in Manhattan, New York. She was an wonderful artist at an early age.  She was granted a full scholarship to the famous Art Institution of New York in Manhattan. But, at that time she fell in love and got married. She moved with her newlywed husband to Pennsylvania. While raising her family she independently perfected her talents. She was an expert at oil painting, ceramics and sewing.

She was a wonderful artist and seamstress. There was nothing Phyllis couldn’t do when it came to drawing or        sewing. I should know, Filomenia was my mom. -Carol Pitts

Filomenia taught me to be an artist.

My education includes: BS in Education with a background in PE,/ Health, Associate degree in Retail Marketing and Associate degree in Liberal arts.

After years of working in the corporate world as a top outside sale person, I retired. While I began to enjoy retirement the flamboyant side of me reappeared from the 70's. Stella's Art was born. I always had a flare for Art being the second generation of the three artists. I am known for the loud colors, hand building with clay, painting on canvas, and glass painting.

3rd Generation: Danielle Klein - Potter and Painter
Dani’s interest in Art started as a young child. She grew up watching her grandmother paint oil landscapes and her mother crafting gorgeous wreaths and candles. As a child she knew art would be a drive in her life.

After graduation from Mercyhurst College in 1996 she moved back home with a Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy. In 1999 she earned a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Ursuline College and was awarded the Initiative and Innovation Award for starting an art program at the Lake County Central YMCA in Painesville, Ohio. Since then Dani has worked in several settings as a Registered Art Therapist in partial hospitalization units, at counseling centers, alternative schools, local schools, and art associations. While working, Dani kept her art alive. Her favorite media is clay. She enjoys throwing on the potter’s wheel and hand-building vessels that can be decorative and useful. Dani also enjoys painting with acrylics and watercolors.

In 2014, with her mother Carol Pitts, they created Stella’s Art Gallery: a group of Artists from the Lake County area with a mission to create, teach, and sell art. Their goal is to build an artisan community within the Match Works building in Mentor, Ohio.

In 2015 they were the Featured Artist for Painesville’s Art in the Park.
