Alice Mullins

Alice is a professional art instructor, tie dye artist, wildlife artist& custom pet portrait artist . Alice has taught art in Cincinnati county schools ,West Palm Beach Schools, Adult Community art programs Royal Palm Beach Fl. She has taught art at Cleveland  State. Fairmount Center & Dazzle in Chagrin Falls  & in home paint parties. Her art is on display at Stella's Art Gallery  in Willoughby. Alice also takes her art & tie dyes  to various summer art shows & markets.

Alice also worked as an Art Therapist at Laurelwood Psychiatric/ Lake West Hospital.

Alice has always been attracted to Indigenous art & stories. Currently she has 3 Elders ( a mixed blood Tsalagi ( Cherokee) a 1st Nations Saultaux & a Lakota.) As she " walks The Red Road. Many of her creations have a Native American influence & style.

Join one of two new Tie-Dye classes with Alice at Stella’s Art Gallery:

Beginner Level 1:

No Experience needed ..

FunFunFun with color.

All materials will be supplied.

You will be making

  • 2 short sleeve cotton tee shirts

  • 1 bandana

  • 1 tote.

You will learn & experiment with fold & color theory & application with dyes..

Beginner Level 2:

MUST HAVE TAKEN LEVEL 1 CLASS

You will make…

  • 2 short sleeve cotton tee shirts (a peace sign and a turtle shell shirt)

  • 1 wall hanging 

All supplies included .

I will need your tee shirt sizes when you sign up to prep them for the workshop.

Tees are Gilden cotton crew neck.

Dyes are permanent  so wear appropriate clothing.

Suitable for 16 years and up.

About Alice:

Alice has been tie-dying since the late 60's ! Her tie-dyes are considered " wearable art " and are currently available at Stella's Art Gallery & all summer at various

Art shows and markets around Chagrin Falls & surrounding areas. She also adds hand drawn art on custom tees.

Alice is self taught in tie-dye but has a BFA in painting- an MA in Art Education & an MA in Art Therapy.

She has taught art in Cleveland areas- Cincinnati & Florida.

Her paintings are very colorful as are her tie-dyes..

Exploring the Animal Nations: the healers- the burden carriers- the messengers-& the wisdom from the 2-legged- the 4 legged- the winged ones & those that swim & crawl. 

I believe that the animals that enter our lives . Whether in dreams & visions, our homes, or daily experiences- offer messages of wisdom & guidance- a specific meaning for me - a message to be explored .

The workshop is in 2 parts:

Part 1: scenarios discussions & sharing 

Part 2 : drawing/ painting on canvas with acrylics / oil pastels a totem of your choice  with animal medicine cards available as a reference .

All supplies  included.
