Linda Zolten Wood has painted colorful murals all over Northeast Ohio, and shares joyful graphic artwork as a way to celebrate the positive energy through representation and diversity. She brings arts and sustainability together to create solutions to environmental issues and raises awareness to practical solutions to our changing climate.

Zolten Wood earned her BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art and began her career as a set painter at Cain Park Summer Theater and prop artisan at The Cleveland Play House.

Her Upcycled Arts and Painting Workshops are influenced by travels in India, which practices a national ethic of 'no waste', where practically everything is repaired or re-used in some way: Conservation as a daily practice and culture.

She created The Collinwood Painted Rain Barrel Project and Zolten Wood Design, which has received multiple Neighborhood Connections and Cuyahoga Arts and Culture grants to serve Greater Cleveland through workshops for all age students and Senior citizens.

Her philosophy "Art For All" offers creativity to anyone who wants to try, regardless of economics or education: she has experienced the healing of the Arts in all areas of her life.

Chunky Knitting with Linda - October 19 @ 10am

Create a Simple Scarf or Cowl using Larger knitting needles and Chunky Yarn.

Teen - Adult

Bring: One pair of Size 11 Knitting Needles, 2 large skeins of chunky yarn - same or related colors (read the label for needle size 9-12). Small scissors, 2 thick rubber bands.

Knit only, no pearl. Beginners will use one strand of chunky yarn, search for smooth acrylic yarn with very little added texture, flecks of color and color shifting yarns are fine. Advanced Students may bring multiple colors of thinner yarns to color mix.

Teen - Adult

Bring: Two Soft complimentary color/patterned pieces of Fabric from clean used clothing or textiles, or new washed, roughly 18” square. If Possible Sharp Fabric Scissors, vintage buttons, scrap yarn, tassles, larger beads.

We will Supply: Needle, Thread, Polyfill Stuffing, Extra Fabrics, buttons, beads, yarn.
Learn how to create a simple Plush toy from creating a unique pattern to hand stitching, adding facial and personality details like eyes, mouth, earrings, hair and mustaches.

Scraps of yarn, cereal boxes, larger tongue depressors, double sided tape or glue dots, ribbon, scissors, foil back 'jewels', hot glue and sticks, buttons, lightweight extension cords, scraps of faux fur, old jewelry, fabric scraps, trims, tassels, 'silk' flowers, clean sandwich size ziplock bags, White and colorful Model Magic Clay, Heavy bottom clean, dry wine or glass bottles - 2 per person.

Be prepared to share supplies for a rich collection of creative options. Some supplies will be provided.

Upcycled Jewelry Making

In this 3 hour class, students will explore unusual materials including found plastics and metals to Upcycle into accessories. They will navigate hand tools, such as needle nose pliers, wire cutters and wire to master durable pieces that can withstand handling and wear.

Ages 14 through Senior Adult

Beginners welcome!

Supplies will be provided: Linda Zolten Wood provides jewelry findings, pliers, wire, beads etc for participants to make approx. 2 pair earrings, bracelet and or necklace each per class, and will help with finish pliers work as needed.
