Christine Siarka

Medium: pottery

Christine Siarka began making/creating things before she started school and continued ever since. The creating/making process satisfies a space within like nothing else. Creating was her go to, or better said, she was actively pulled towards it, especially during Covid, in 2020. That time was a gift of art making and an unveiling of a new artist within. It was the work inspired during Covid19 that led her to being accepted for membership to Stella’s Art Gallery in Willoughby, Ohio, in 2021.

Stella’s Art Gallery offers a variety of classes including mandala making & basic pinch pot building. Christine’s current media of choice, are 3: Nature mandala making often using collage. Ceramic hand building, something I started at a teenager, left after collage & returned to in 2019. Now, I can’t keep myself away from it. Also, nature themed mixed media work.

In 2023, during an assessment of the asthetics of her bodywork office space, an idea for new work nudged at her. That is how the ceramic luminaria series and a commitment to a more serious exploration of clay work was born. At this time, you may find a variety of ceramic series available through Stella’s Art Gallery. These series include pinch method handleless bug mugs, luminarias in a variety of sizes, pinch method dragonfly series, and a surprise or 2.
