Cath Smith
Mediums: pottery, painting
Cath is a ceramic artist, oil painter, and maker inspired by the quiet beauty of the landscapes where she grew up in rural England and Scotland. For the past 20 years, she has made her home in Willoughby, Ohio, where she lived with her husband, their dog, and three cats. Her work blends ancient craft traditions with contemporary sensibilities, creating objects and paintings that carry a sense of stillness, presence, and soul.
A quiet trio of hand-thrown porcelain bowls, crafted from soft grey colored clay and finished with a clear glaze that reveals the natural tone of the porcelain. The smooth surface and gentle curves echo the stillness of early morning fog, settling over a calm horizon.
Each bowl is shaped with a refined foot ring and balanced proportions, making them equally at home in daily use or as contemplative pieces for display.
