October 2026
Reception at 6pm on Second Friday
Welcome to the chaos of my mind. It is a space I can no longer contain within the confines of my skull. To-do lists, notes, scribbles, sketches, fleeting ideas, haunting memories, snatches of songs, fragments of poems, and the sheer chaos of life dance behind all of our eyes. In this series, I've externalized what can no longer fit. The foundation of this work is the assorted jargon from the mind of a corporate eLearning designer (me). I turned a sketchbook filled with blank potential into a notated graveyard, filling page after page with nonsense too important to discard, yet too trivial to retain.
An artist (also me) needed to intervene and resurrect the beauty lurking within those pages. Beauty was found, but so too were sadness, spite, and melancholy. As you see them now, the pages embody an argument between the artist and the designer, a tense standoff. The artist craves the designer's sharp edges and methodical approach; the designer yearns for the artist's inspiration and creative spark. I invite you to experience their conflict, rife with paradoxes, internal battles, protective horns, cryptic runes, echoes of frustration, and glimpses of desire. It is an unending juggling act, our shared paradox: the parts of us that resent needing the rest.
