For Julie Cook art has purpose

As a child, Julie always liked to build, create, and be active. But when she was not recommended for high school art classes, she believed she didn’t have the talent to pursue it.

After her children grew up and her parents passed away, she needed a purpose. She wanted to support the organization her daughter works with in Thailand that helps children and young adults get an education that would be unavailable to them. (https://www.globaladvanceprojects.org/) Julie donates a large percentage of her profits to them and that is why she keeps creating.

As a self-taught artist she enjoys using non-traditional tools to paint with and loves to experiment with different techniques.

Landscapes are her main love, but she ventures into painting abstract cities and other subjects too. Her style is loose and impressionistic, capturing the spirit of the subject over intricate details, vivid with color and texture. Julie doesn’t constrain herself to one medium but works with acrylic paints and mixed media.

She feels honored when her art connects with someone strongly enough for them to want to own it.

Driven by the joy of creation and the heart of a philanthropist, Julie turns every brushstroke into a meaningful contribution toward a better future.
