Tracy Zakraysek sees the wild in everything

Tracy Zakraysek grew up in Chagrin Falls, exploring the ravine behind her house and paging through National Geographic — and that early, unhurried attention to the natural world never left. It shows up now in every piece she makes.

Working digitally on an iPad, Tracy creates vivid portraits of wildlife that go beyond likeness. Bold color, expressive mark-making, and a genuine feeling for her subjects give the work its energy. A moonlit cat with wings. Two burrowing owls shoulder to shoulder. A swallowtail butterfly against a wash of blue. Each piece has personality, presence, and a quiet advocacy for the animals it depicts.

Working at the intersection of fine art and digital innovation, Tracy’s portfolio demonstrates how contemporary tools can capture timeless themes. She also shares her passion and expertise, sharing her digital painting process in private one-to-one sessions through Stella's “Digital Painting on the iPad” — a natural extension of a practice rooted in curiosity and connection.

Her work is available at Stella's Art Gallery in Willoughby, on Etsy at TracyZakraysekPrints, and on Instagram @tracy_zakraysek.
