Do you SEE what I SEE?

from $30.00

Step into a world where simple words are brought to life.
This playful new program at Stella’s Art Gallery is the perfect way to bridge imagination and creativity! Bring a friend and join Carol Agnew on this unique journey!

  • Concept: Participants transform short written prompts into visual art, proving how one phrase can spark infinite interpretations.

  • Weekly Refresh:  Five new prompts every Monday.  Choose one and turn it into a unique creation. (Ex: ‘What I saw before the candle went out!,’ ‘A door to…’,
    And then… it melted!.’)

  • Expert Guidance: You'll have direct support to experiment with different mediums and styles.

  • The Spotlight:  We’ve dedicated a special space on our "Do You See What I See?" entry wall just for this program. It’s a rotating celebration of how different minds interpret the same simple words. You might see a "City Life" prompt turned into a neon abstract by one person, and a detailed sketch by another!  Join us!

Carol Agnew is an award-winning artist and educator. Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California, her love for the outdoors motivated her to earn a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies at Hiram College—a degree that continues to shape her artistic perspective by connecting people with the natural world. A stay-at-home mother who transformed her passion into a profession, she founded a home studio specializing in custom pencil portraits, commissioned porcelain tile backsplashes, and nature-inspired murals—all while continuously exploring the diverse depths of watercolor, acrylic, and oil.

An enthusiastic instructor, Carol has led everything from kayak journaling expeditions to private painting workshops. During the COVID era, she served as the resident “Nature Lady” for Crestwood Schools, guiding students to study and illustrate the outdoors. Now, a proud member of Stella’s Art Gallery, she has the opportunity to develop her love for oil painting,  while continuing to give back through community-focused art education. When she’s not at Stella’s, you might find her either in her studio, out on the water, or—quite likely— savoring a smooth glass of wine.
