Beginner Colored Pencil Class with Mandy
May 1, 8, and 15 from 9:30 to 11:30
This 3-week course will teach you the basic fine art techniques and strategies to use when working with colored pencil. This is not an open studio or loosely structured class, so while we will have lots of fun, students can expect a structured and informative class. As part of the class fee, each student will receive a spiral bound workbook that contains an outline and two tutorials (a cherry and a donut) that use the 24 count box of Prismacolor Premier pencils. Students will also receive a folder containing worksheets and Bristol paper. At the end of this class, students will understand various pencil strokes, color layering, underpaintings, blending and burnishing, shortcuts to creating realistic looking textures, and more! This class has a minimum requirement of 3 students.
Supplies - Students need to bring at least a 24 count box of Prismacolor Premier pencils, a Prismacolor Premier colorless blender, a handheld pencil sharpener, an eraser, and an artist tote or clipboard. The instructor will provide a workbook for each student, a folder containing worksheets and Bristol paper, and other necessary supplies for the class.
