Stella’s Art, Inc. started as a mother/daughter team influenced by the family’s matriarch, Filomenia Stellabotte who was a painter, sculptor, and seamstress. The duo, Carol Pitts and Dani Klein, create unique pieces of handmade pottery, painted glassware, acrylic paintings, and manage Stella’s Art Gallery. Today, Stella’s supports over 60 local artists from Northeast Ohio. From glass work, paintings, pottery, blacksmithing and jewelry, woodworking, photography, drawing and collaging we have a large variety of art for your homes, office, and gift giving needs. You may view their artwork, shop, read about their inspirations on our blog, and see our scheduled classes/workshops right here on our website.
Meet the Artists

Filomenia Stellabotte - Painter, Sculptor, Seamstress.
Filomemia Stellbotte (1915-2009), AKA Phyllis, was a very talented individual and the Inspiration for the family business . At the age of 16 she graduated from high school in Manhattan, New York and was recognized for her artistic talents. Phyllis was offered a full scholarship to a famous art college (during the early 19030s) of New York in Manhattan. But, at that time, women were not meant to be "scholarly" and she was not supported by her parents to continue her education. A few years of working in NYC, she fell in love, married, and moved with her newlywed husband, Joseph Stellabotte to Altoona Pennsylvania where they raised their family. During her years in PA she independently perfected her talents and passed them on to her children and grandchildren. She was an expert at oil painting, ceramics and sewing.
There was nothing Phyllis couldn’t do when it came to painting or sewing. I should know, she was my mom. -Carol Pitts
