This 1:1 instruction will introduce you to the skills needed to throw on the pottery wheel. In this 6-week series, we'll cover the basics of wheel throwing, including preparing the clay, centering, opening, throwing basic shapes, trimming, and glazing.
Perfect for absolute beginners or those with some experience who want a refresh.

In these one-on-one lessons, I’ll work with you to discover how easy and fun it is to paint — really paint — on your iPad! The iPad is an exceptional tool because you only need a tablet and an Apple Pencil. No messy supplies, no set-up and clean-up. You can work from the comfort of your sofa or kitchen table! The Procreate app is a complete art studio for creating expressive sketches, luscious paintings, and so much more. It’s easy for a beginner to start using, and powerful enough for the professional artist.

About the Instructor
After a career in graphic design, Tracy Zakraysek continues to explore the vast possibilities of digital media by painting on the iPad. Her art is filled with vibrant colors and rich textures, often featuring animals as well as landscapes and abstract works. Prints are for sale at Stella’s Art Gallery and online at her Etsy shop, tracyzakraysekprints.
In this 6 week class students create artworks inspired by music from around the globe. “Travel” the world and experience local and exotic destinations… participate in a different cultural tradition each day.
This multi media class gives the student an opportunity to learn and experiment with basic art concepts and techniques in a “hands on” environment.

Textile Design…Create Unique Fabric:
Fun with Fabric II challenges the student who learned how to create unique fabrics; to design and print repeat patterns, design and print multi-colored images utilizing various techniques including, but not limited to silkscreen and stamp/block printing.
The finished fabric can be incorporated into quilts, wearables, home furnishings such as pillows, wallhangings and other unique projects.
All supplies provided however students will need to provide a t-shirt and printable materials such as tote bags or bandanas. Instructor will discuss options during the first class.
A handful of skies will be provided as well as techniques that assist and allow participants to improve their skills. You may also bring a photo of your own if you prefer. Painters will be shown how to break down the colors of a sunset and will be given a choice of techniques that include various types of blending.

Barbara Martin is a Cleveland-based artist whose work is frequently shown in galleries throughout the state. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) in painting and a master’s degree in education (MEd). Barbara taught in the Centerville City School district for 27 years and still enjoys making art with youngsters.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of painting. Beginning with drawing, under painting, glazing, and over painting highlights. Canvas will be supplied. Any basic oil set and brushes (some brushes will be available) are required to bring along with a photo to reference. A still life will also be set up for those with or without a photo reference. You will learn various techniques such as collage, decoupage, moulding, and distressing. In the end you will leave with this beautiful skeleton cameo!

Hand building with a ball of clay can be fun, satisfying, creative and challenging. Come explore this tactile, hands on making of clay bowls using the pinch method. In this 2 session course, you will have the opportunity to make two or three pinch pots with or without stamp designs. Session 2 we will glaze the pots to make them glossy and functional. Come by yourself, with your daughter or son, or a friend.
About the instructor: Christine Siarka, has worked in clay off and on for about 15 years, almost exclusively hand building. She is currently creating pinch pots for vases, plants and prayer bowls, in addition to other media. This method is very centering, grounding and fun. She has taught both adults and young people for over 20 years, in Northeast, OH and Dallas TX. She loves being part of her student's creative process. It brings much joy and hope.

Want to learn how to upcycle paper to make your own paper bowl? This class show you how to prep your paper, how to make the pulp, and mold it into a bowl. All supplies will be provided and each student will leave with a minimum of two small bowls.

“Travel” to “south of the border” and experience the tradition of celebrating “The Days of the Dead & Dia de los Muertos”, which occurs every year on November 1 and 2. Create artworks inspired by the culture and music of Mexico: Decorate a skull made out of sugar, create Sugar Skull masks, Papel Picados: cut paper, and Paper skeletons.
Listen to some Mexico/Latin America inspired music, learn a few words in Spanish.

Life can be loud and overwhelming. Mindfulness coloring can quiet our minds and give us a chance to focus on the moment. Science backs the benefits of this and likens the results to that of meditation.

Mandala is a geometric figure representing the universe, based on a circle. Join us for a 2 ½ hour session, for a time of creating, reflection, and discovery. Mandalas are used by the Tibetan monks and native peoples as a way to connect to spirit and be and express peace.
Each month we will create a mandala based on a particular theme.
Nov.Theme : In thanksgiving No experience necessary, just the willingness to be expressive. All materials for your 1st session are provided, adding some embellishment of various forms for fun and joy. Come join us for the ahh moments. Square sizes will vary, no larger than 12” x 12”.
We will explore mixed media techniques: creating a background first then, layering images materials and objects as our imagination calls to us. If there is something you really want to work with ,please let me know. Feel free to bring mulitple images ( no bigger than (5”x7”) of your own too. If you have special natural items or images you wish to use, please bring them along.
We will start the class with a short grounding centering time. The rest of the class session is to create and embellish your mandala with guidance. Also you may bring in your own items, photos, small found objects and small natural items.

Everyone will have fun creating their own unique 12x12 acrylic pour painting using 3 different techniques & 2 different pouring mediums. All supplies to create 1 painting, disposable gloves & aprons, and a handout with materials used & helpful information are included.

About the Instructor:
Michelle Farnworth, a native of North East Ohio, has been teaching acrylic pouring, acrylic painting, and mixed media at Stella's Art Gallery since 2018.
Michelle's classes are not only designed for learning technique, but also for inspiring others to express their unique creative energy
Come learn how to make an easy, ribbed beanie. This is a beginner friendly pattern, and the instructor will guide you step by step to making your wonderful creation. Come to class with nothing but a creative mind and willingness to learn! All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your own. The instructor will contact you for your preference of color for the yarn. Whatever you are unable to finish within class will be given to you to keep crafting at home, meaning you get to keep the yarn and hook at the end of the workshop. Come learn to crochet and experience the satisfaction of turning an ordinary ball of yarn into something worth bragging over!
