In these one-on-one lessons, I’ll work with you to discover how easy and fun it is to paint — really paint — on your iPad! The iPad is an exceptional tool because you only need a tablet and an Apple Pencil. No messy supplies, no set-up and clean-up. You can work from the comfort of your sofa or kitchen table! The Procreate app is a complete art studio for creating expressive sketches, luscious paintings, and so much more. It’s easy for a beginner to start using, and powerful enough for the professional artist.

After a career in graphic design, Tracy Zakraysek continues to explore the vast possibilities of digital media by painting on the iPad. Pottery Box is an open-studio environment during gallery hours for those with basic clay skill and knowledge. We have two studios featuring workstations for glazing, handbuilding, and throwing on the pottery wheel. Each member has their own shelf for storage allowing them to work continuously on several projects and keep personal tools.
Studio access allows you to use equipment, decorating accessories and studio glazes. We ask that you purchase your clay from us $17 for 25lbs, but you may use your own glazes -cone 05 to cone 6 glaze.

It’s a brand new year and the perfect time to start an art journal! Art journaling is a way to explore art and yourself at the same time. Mindful Coloring with Anna Weisend
Life can be loud and overwhelming. Mindfulness coloring can quiet our minds and give us a chance to focus on the moment. Science backs the benefits of this and likens the results to that of meditation.
This class will give you a chance to slow down and give yourself an hour of self-care. All supplies will be provided with several different coloring mediums available. However, you are welcome to bring your own if that makes you smile. Teens and Adults welcome.

Cold Porcelain Roses with Anna Weisend
Learn to sculpt quick roses, buds and leaves out of an air dry cold porcelain clay. You will also learn to choose the right supplies, color, and finish your roses so that you can use them in your artwork or display in your vase. All supplies will be provided. Teens and Adults welcome.

April showers brings May flowers! This month the Art Club will celebrate rain and the arrival ( finally ) of Spring. Come join us to create a fun recycled installation piece that mimics the colorful work of glass artist, Dale Chihuly!! This piece will be featured in our third Annual Student Art Show in May. Upcycle old book pages and baubles into fantasy flowers that you can then add into
assemblage work, household decorations, or just into your favorite vase. You will learn

Have you always wanted to learn to draw? Come and join Earl for this fun and easy basic drawing class. No experience needed. You will experience the excitement of drawing through learning special techniques in dimensional shading which will make the subject come alive. Drawing fundamentals will be explored through demonstrations and examples. Group and individualized instruction will be utilized in throughout these 5 weeks. Have fun while learning!

pieces and one finished floral.

About the Artist
After teaching Language Arts for 30 years, Tanya Hough became a full-time painter (in 2019). She largely paints in acrylics, but also does watercolor. She also enjoys using a palette knife and the Elegant Writer pen. She joined Stella’s in 2021 and is now an integral part of its artist community.
We will have a live model drawing night on September 9th- 6:30 - 8:30! This event will be limited to 20 artists. Fee is ONLY $10. You are responsible for bringing your own art supplies. Model will be 6ft away on a pedestal.

About the instructor:
Christine has been a practicing part-time artist , in
various ways for over 30 years. Has taught a variety of age students while
experiencing great joy witnessing her students’ creative ah ha moments and
problem solving.
Her work is a way to connect with life and especially Spirit. It is a way to be
grounded and make sense of the world she experiences. Her most recent
solo show was in 2019, at the Fairmount Center of the Arts.
The show was titled Transformation of a Heart.
She is a member artist at Stella’s Art Gallery, since February 2021. She is
currently working in mixed media, ceramic luminarias and mandalas.
Her art life often overflows into other parts of her life, as a work of art in
progress.

After a career in graphic design, Tracy Zakraysek continues to explore the vast possibilities of digital media by painting on the iPad. Her art is filled with vibrant colors and rich textures, often featuring animals as well as landscapes and abstract works. Pottery Box is an open-studio environment during gallery hours for those with basic clay skill and knowledge. We have two studios featuring workstations for glazing, handbuilding, and throwing on the pottery wheel. Each member has their own shelf for storage allowing them to work continuously on several projects and keep personal tools.
Studio access allows you to use equipment, decorating accessories and studio glazes. We ask that you purchase your clay from us $17 for 25lbs, but you may use your own glazes -cone 05 to cone 6 glaze.

This 1:1 instruction will introduce you to the skills needed to throw on the pottery wheel. In this 6-week series, we'll cover the basics of wheel throwing, including preparing the clay, centering, opening, throwing basic shapes, trimming, and glazing.

and we we'll be exploring the theme of flowers in May. -Looking at flowers through the eyes of various artists May 28th will be our last art club of the school year. We will be celebrating with an outdoor picnic! Our Third Annual Student Art Show opens with a receptions on May 25th, 1-3pm.
Art club classes are open to students ages 6-12. They are held in the Stella's Classroom. Preregistration is required. Class are limited to 10 students and all supplies are included. Dress for mess! Students are encouraged to bring water and a light nut-free snack.

Summary
In this workshop we will be doing a bit of self reflection before embarking on creating a mixed media self portrait. Discover the art of botanical monoprinting in this hands-on-workshop, where nature
meets creativity! This class will introduce you to the unique printmaking technique of
mono printing, using leaves, flowers and other natural materials to create one-of-a-kind prints. I will provide leaves and flowers but if you have a favorite plant or flower you would like to print feel free to bring it. We will work with black & colored block printing ink.
Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop is a fun and
experimental way to connect with nature and express yourself through printmaking. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a collection of beautiful botanical prints to frame, use in mixed media projects, or give as gifts!

Emily Strogin graduated from Ohio State University in 2021 where she studied ancient Mediterranean history and ceramics. Her work is inspired by ancient utilitarian forms and she uses the coiling and paddling technique found in various traditional cultures to shape vessels. Emily currently displays her work and teaches at Stella’s Art Gallery.

GELLI PLATE STUDIO
6:30PM - 8:30PM Tuesday May 27, June 3, and June 10 - $75 per person. Unlock the magic of the gelatin plate for printing at home. The gelatin plate (brand names Gelli Plate or Gel Press) is a wonderful tool to create a variety of prints, whether you want a unique monotype or papers for collage (and many other things in between).
During these studio sessions we’ll unlock how to make the most of your gelli plate, including what materials and tools to use, learning about the two primary ways to build images, and exploring a wide range of paints and tools.
Each week will have a different theme – starting with the basics of applying paint and using your tools, all the way to advanced techniques such as creating monotypes and even printing on ceramics!
We’ll look at the work of different print artists working in different printing mediums and consider what we can bring into the world of gelli plate printing.
Bring your gelli plate and have fun!
