Homeschool Colored Pencil with Mandy April 3, 10, 17 9:30-11:30
This 3-week course will teach you basic fine art techniques and strategies to use when working with colored pencil. This is not an open studio or loosely structured class. Students can expect a very structured and informative class. As part of the class fee, each student will receive a spiral bound workbook that contains an outline and two tutorials (a cherry and a donut) using the 24 count box of Prismacolor Premier pencils. Students will also receive a folder containing worksheets and bristol paper. At the end of this class, students will understand various pencil strokes, color layering, underpaintings, blending and burnishing, shortcuts to creating realistic looking textures, and more! This class has a minimum requirement of 3 students.
Supplies - Students need to bring at least a 24 count Prismacolor Premier pencil set, a Prismacolor Premier colorless blender, a handheld pencil sharpener, an eraser, and an artist tote or clipboard. The instructor will provide a workbook for each student, a folder container worksheets and bristol paper, and other necessary supplies.
About the Instructor: Mandy Peltier is an award-winning colored pencil artist and instructor. Her artwork and colored pencil tutorials have been published in various magazines and publications, and Mandy is also a part of Ann Kullberg’s SOAR network of colored pencil instructors, through which she travels the country teaching colored pencil workshops. Mandy is passionate about promoting the fine art medium of colored pencil to the world, and she hopes her love and excitement for this medium is contagious to everyone she comes across.
