Monthly Mixed Media Mandalas: with Christine January 20th 5:30-7:30pm
Mandala is a geometric figure representing the universe, based on a
circle. Join us for a 2 hour session, for a time of creating, reflection, and
discovery. Mandalas are used by the Tibetan monks and native peoples
as a way to connect to spirit and be and express peace.
Each month we will create a mandala based on a particular theme.
Jan. choices: New Year, Winter, Birthdays
Feb. choices: love, light, birthdays
March choices: Spring, new life.
No experience necessary, just the willingness to be expressive. All
materials for 1st session are provided, adding some embellishment of
various forms for fun and joy. Come join us for the ahh moments.
Square sizes will vary, no larger than 12” x 12”.
In January, February, and March we will explore basic mixed media
techniques to create a circular mandala-like design for relaxation and
calmness.
We will start the class with a short grounding centering time. The rest of
the class session is to create and embellish your fluid mandala with
guidance. Also you may bring in your own items, photos, small found
objects and small natural items.
Sign up for one month at a time and return throughout the year. Repeat
participants welcome. Take a break for a reflective and creative time
working with a variety of materials.
