Your Work Has Been Accepted! Now What?
Matting, Framing, and Preparing Your Work For Display

Description: Congratulations! You have a piece accepted into a show. You now have to mat and frame it, wire the frame for display, and create a label for the back. In this short hands-on workshop, we will prepare one of your pieces for presentation. Bring an image, a frame, and other items listed below that will customize your own work for display.
About the Instructor:
Becky Grasser is a photographer, working in historical processes. She has a MFA in Photography and a Doctorate in Engineering and teaches computer science at Lakeland Community College. She has had work in galleries in Barcelona, Spain; Rouen, France; Dallas, Texas; New York City, in private collections, and locally. Her work is currently on display at Stella’s Art Gallery.
Student Supplies: (can be purchased at most arts & crafts stores locally)
Please bring an image that you wish to mat and frame
2 pieces of mat board (no windows!) that will fit your frame
A piece of foam core or other archival stiff backing that will fit your frame.
A frame of your choice
It should be 5-7 inches larger than the print (both length & width)
Appropriate D-hooks for your frame
A nice sharp pencil
A basic calculator if you don’t trust your math skills.
Linen tape if you have it (suggested brand: Lineco Self Adhesive Linen Hinging Tape)

Razor blades
Linen Tape
Scrap mat board for practice
Wire
Frame d-hooks for wood frames
Some t-squares
A power drill
