Radiant Pours: Creating and Pouring Glow in the Dark Paints
In this class you will learn how to create your own glow paints for acrylic pouring along with the best way to incorporate them into your pour to get optimal glow from them.
Supplies needed:
- A stretched canvas, any size or shape you want, I used an 8inch round canvas from Hobby Lobby: https://www.hobbylobby.com/art-supplies/painting-canvas-art-surfaces/blank-canvas/round-blank-canvas/p/80867197
- Painters tape (optional): to mask off the back edge of your canvas to keep it clean.
- Any color/brand acrylic paint for your base coat (I used titanium white by Masters Touch)
- Any color/brand of acrylic paint for your cell activator (I used pearlized gold by Masters Touch)
- Swirly Pearly Glow powders by Wynn Modern Art. I used 3, but you can use as many or as few colors as you like. The 3 I used were Iced Donut, Creamscicle, and #2 in the fire opal trio set. Make sure you get the Swirly Pearly Glow powders & not the sparkling glow powders as they don’t work as good for making paints. - Disposable gloves: I get mine from Amazon, but I have also seen them at Dollar General.
You will need a place where your poured painting can dry, which usually takes about 24 hours, but sometimes can take up to 48 hours. You will also need the following, which I get at Dollar Tree or Dollar General: paper towels, small cups to elevate your canvas off of your table, craft sticks (aka popsicle sticks) for mixing, small plastic cups with lids to store your glow paints in, plastic straws that bend at one end, and a table covering to protect your table from paint drips.
