Handmade Christmas Cards with Gelli Plate Printing with Cath Smith ONLINE

$35.00

Handmade Christmas Cards with Gelli Plate Printing

Learn to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind Christmas cards using a Gelli plate — at your own pace, from the comfort of home.

This online class guides you through two distinct approaches to building your images: one that layers colour and texture directly on the Gelli plate, and another that constructs the design right on the card itself. Both techniques are simple, satisfying, and endlessly adaptable for your own style.

Perfect for beginners or experienced Gelli plate artists alike, this class offers a relaxed, creative way to add a personal handmade touch to your holiday season.

Class Includes:

  • Discussion of materials and how to set up your space for printing.
  • How to prepare your cards for printing and layering.
  • Gelli plate basics — paint application, texture, and pulling prints.
  • Two demonstrations showing different creative approaches.
  • Further ideas and inspiration for continuing your printmaking at home.

Format: Online, self-paced video class.

Duration: Approximately 50 minutes.”

Radiant Pours: Creating and Pouring Glow in the Dark Paints with Michelle - ONLINE

$25.00

Radiant Pours: Creating and Pouring Glow in the Dark Paints

In this class you will learn how to create your own glow paints for acrylic pouring along with the best way to incorporate them into your pour to get optimal glow from them.

Supplies needed:

  • A stretched canvas, any size or shape you want, I used an 8inch round canvas from Hobby Lobby: https://www.hobbylobby.com/art-supplies/painting-canvas-art-surfaces/blank-canvas/round-blank-canvas/p/80867197
  • Painters tape (optional): to mask off the back edge of your canvas to keep it clean.
  • Any color/brand acrylic paint for your base coat (I used titanium white by Masters Touch)
  • Any color/brand of acrylic paint for your cell activator (I used pearlized gold by Masters Touch)
  • Swirly Pearly Glow powders by Wynn Modern Art. I used 3, but you can use as many or as few colors as you like. The 3 I used were Iced Donut, Creamscicle, and #2 in the fire opal trio set. Make sure you get the Swirly Pearly Glow powders & not the sparkling glow powders as they don’t work as good for making paints. You can use the discount code MICHELLE00142 to receive 10% off any regularly priced items on wynnmodernart.com
  • You can find the swirly pearly glow powders here: https://wynnmodernart.com/collections/swirly-pearly-glow-powders The glow powders come with a mini UV light. If you want a larger one like I have in the video you can find it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C85H9H2W?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1GAC100: https://www.dickblick.com/products/golden-gac-100-primer-extender-acrylic-polymer-mediums/?fromSearch=%2Fsearch%2F%3Fsearchword%3DGAC100
  •  Flood Floetrol for latex paint: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Flood-Floetrol-1-qt-Clear-Latex-Paint-Additive-FLD6-04/100198078?MERCH=REC-_-pipsem-_-206116739-_-0-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a

M1 : https://www.homedepot.com/p/M-1-1-qt-Latex-Paint-Additive-and- Extender-70332M/206116739

  • Disposable gloves: I get mine from Amazon, but I have also seen them at Dollar General.

You will need a place where your poured painting can dry, which usually takes about 24 hours, but sometimes can take up to 48 hours. You will also need the following, which I get at Dollar Tree or Dollar General: paper towels, small cups to elevate your canvas off of your table, craft sticks (aka popsicle sticks) for mixing, small plastic cups with lids to store your glow paints in, plastic straws that bend at one end, and a table covering to protect your table from paint drips.
