In these one-on-one lessons, I’ll work with you to discover how easy and fun it is to paint — really paint — on your iPad! The iPad is an exceptional tool because you only need a tablet and an Apple Pencil. No messy supplies, no set-up and clean-up. You can work from the comfort of your sofa or kitchen table! The Procreate app is a complete art studio for creating expressive sketches, luscious paintings, and so much more. It’s easy for a beginner to start using, and powerful enough for the professional artist.
What we will be doing:
In each one-on-one lesson we will work side by side on our iPads
- We will go over the tools, so you are thoroughly comfortable with them
- We will use them to draw/paint so we become familiar with how they work
- The drawing/painting practices are simple and easy for anyone to do
- We will learn the shortcuts and options for each tool
- We will learn to import images as references or as part of the painting
- We will learn to master the power of layers and masks
- We will learn to create and customize brushes
- We will learn to export a finished painting for printing
Tools required:
- iPad, compatible with Apple Pencil

- Procreate application (from the App Store, $9.99)
- Some basic familiarity with the iPad would be helpful
About the Instructor
After a career in graphic design, Tracy Zakraysek continues to explore the vast possibilities of digital media by painting on the iPad. Her art is filled with vibrant colors and rich textures, often featuring animals as well as landscapes and abstract works. Prints are for sale at Stella’s Art Gallery and online at her Etsy shop, tracyzakraysekprints.
Pottery Box - Open Studio Time
Pottery Box as an open-studio environment during gallery hours for those with basic clay skill and knowledge. Wheel time needs to be scheduled in advance while hand building and glazing can be drop-ins.
For those new to ceramics or wishing to develop their skills see our class schedule.
Studio access allows you to use equipment, decorating accessories and studio glazes. We ask that you purchase your clay from us $15 for 25lbs, but you may use your own glazes -cone 05 to cone 6 glaze.

It is said, if we can think it and see it we can make it happen.
Come join us for vision board making.
With guidance and a short explanation of the vision board, we will create a
vision board collage with pictures and words to create a visual guide of a
desire for the New Year, a change in life’s direction or other personal change.
Materials provided:
Scissors, 16”x 20” foam board, glue sticks, some magazines.
You are welcome to bring some of your own magazines to cut up for images or
words.

Oil Painting 101 with Mark Badzik February 1, 8, 15, 22nd 6-8pm

Participants will learn the fundamentals of painting. Beginning with drawing, under painting, glazing, and over painting highlights. Canvas will be supplied. Any basic oil set and brushes (some brushes will be available) are required to bring along with a photo to reference. A still life will also be set up. Learn a new medium each week with Dani Klein and Carol Leikala along side a professional Stella's Art Gallery artist. Students may paint, collage, chalk, draw, or sculpt to create 2D and or 3D artwork. Dress for mess, as we tend to use true art supplies, like acrylic paints, that sometimes stain. Students may bring a small snack and water bottle. We understand kids might be coming from school. Please due to allergies, no snacks including peanuts.
January will focus on creating winter themed artwork using clay, oil pastels, watercolors and more!

About the Instructor
Angela Simone is a self-taught, mixed media, abstract artist currently working out of her home-based studio in Lake County, OH. In 2019, she launched her first solo exhibition at, Negative Space Gallery, which received a supportive review from the CAN journal. To date, she has participated in over 22 Gallery shows, juried and community-based, as well as several online shows. She has sold photography and mixed media art out of Cleveland and Columbus-based galleries, and has sold to private collectors locally. Angela is known for her uniquely textured ethereal compositions. She is currently teaching workshops at Stella's Art Gallery with art available to view and purchase inside Studio 2.
Monthly Mixed Media Mandalas: with Christine January 20th 5:30-7:30pm

Mandala is a geometric figure representing the universe, based on a
circle. Join us for a 2 hour session, for a time of creating, reflection, and
discovery. Mandalas are used by the Tibetan monks and native peoples
as a way to connect to spirit and be and express peace.
Each month we will create a mandala based on a particular theme.
Jan. choices: New Year, Winter, Birthdays
Feb. choices: love, light, birthdays
March choices: Spring, new life.
No experience necessary, just the willingness to be expressive. All
materials for 1st session are provided, adding some embellishment of
various forms for fun and joy. Come join us for the ahh moments.
Square sizes will vary, no larger than 12” x 12”.
In January, February, and March we will explore basic mixed media
techniques to create a circular mandala-like design for relaxation and
calmness.
We will start the class with a short grounding centering time. The rest of
the class session is to create and embellish your fluid mandala with
guidance. Also you may bring in your own items, photos, small found
objects and small natural items.
Sign up for one month at a time and return throughout the year. Repeat
participants welcome. Take a break for a reflective and creative time
working with a variety of materials.
About the Artist: Christine, a native Ohioan, has taught both
adults and young students over the past 20 plus years, in Ohio and
Texas. Her students’ unique expression is a source of inspiration and
hope. The natural world, color and pattern drive her creativity of mixed
media work. She has exhibited throughout the state of Ohio, in juried
and solos shows. Her studio art and art education degree is from
Ursuline College, Pepper Pike, Ohio

Learn a new medium each week with Dani Klein and Carol Leikala along side a professional Stella's Art Gallery artist. Students may paint, collage, chalk, draw, or sculpt to create 2D and or 3D artwork. Dress for mess, as we tend to use true art supplies, like acrylic paints, that sometimes stain. With guidance and a short explanation of the vision board, we will create a
vision board collage with pictures and words to create a visual guide of a
desire for the New Year, a change in life’s direction or other personal change.
Materials provided:
Scissors, 16”x 20” foam board, glue sticks, some magazines.

Monthly Mixed Media Mandalas: with Christine February 24th 5:30-7:30pm

Mandala is a geometric figure representing the universe, based on a
circle. Join us for a 2 hour session, for a time of creating, reflection, and
discovery. Mandalas are used by the Tibetan monks and native peoples
as a way to connect to spirit and be and express peace.
Each month we will create a mandala based on a particular theme.
Jan. choices: New Year, Winter, Birthdays
Feb. choices: love, light, birthdays
March choices: Spring, New Life.
No experience necessary, just the willingness to be expressive. All
materials for 1st session are provided, adding some embellishment of
various forms for fun and joy. Come join us for the ahh moments.
Square sizes will vary, no larger than 12” x 12”.
In January, February, and March we will explore basic mixed media
techniques to create a circular mandala-like design for relaxation and
calmness.
We will start the class with a short grounding centering time. The rest of
the class session is to create and embellish your fluid mandala with
guidance. Also you may bring in your own items, photos, small found
objects and small natural items.
Sign up for one month at a time and return throughout the year. Repeat
participants welcome. Take a break for a reflective and creative time
working with a variety of materials.
About the Artist: Christine, a native Ohioan, has taught both
adults and young students over the past 20 plus years, in Ohio and
Texas. Her students’ unique expression is a source of inspiration and
hope. The natural world, color and pattern drive her creativity of mixed
media work. She has exhibited throughout the state of Ohio, in juried
and solos shows. Her studio art and art education degree is from
Ursuline College, Pepper Pike, Ohio

Each month we will create a mandala based on a particular theme.
Jan. choices: New Year, Winter, Birthdays
Feb. choices: love, light, birthdays
March choices: Spring, New Life.
No experience necessary, just the willingness to be expressive. All
materials for 1st session are provided, adding some embellishment of
various forms for fun and joy. Come join us for the ahh moments.
Square sizes will vary, no larger than 12” x 12”.
In January, February, and March we will explore basic mixed media
techniques to create a circular mandala-like design for relaxation and
calmness.
We will start the class with a short grounding centering time. The rest of
the class session is to create and embellish your fluid mandala with
guidance. Also you may bring in your own items, photos, small found
objects and small natural items.
Sign up for one month at a time and return throughout the year. Repeat
participants welcome. Take a break for a reflective and creative time
working with a variety of materials.
About the Artist: Christine, a native Ohioan, has taught both
adults and young students over the past 20 plus years, in Ohio and
Texas. Her students’ unique expression is a source of inspiration and
hope. The natural world, color and pattern drive her creativity of mixed
media work. She has exhibited throughout the state of Ohio, in juried
and solos shows. Her studio art and art education degree is from
Ursuline College, Pepper Pike, Ohio
